Clinical Pharmacist – Hospital Pharmacy

Location: Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547

Shift: Days (Rotating Weekends) – 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, 4 × 10-hour shifts. Every 3rd weekend + 1 summer holiday (4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day) and 1 winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s).

Position Summary:

The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for providing safe, effective, and evidence-based pharmaceutical care. The role includes medication order verification, dispensing, drug therapy monitoring, clinical pharmacy services, medication information, and supporting pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret orders and accurately transcribe or verify them in the pharmacy computer system.
• Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals accurately.
• Monitor drug therapy for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies, and appropriate drug/dose selection.
• Support the hospital formulary and promote rational drug therapy through therapeutic interchanges.
• Provide accurate and timely medication information to healthcare staff and patients.
• Assist with drug consults, nutrition support, pharmacokinetics, anticoagulant monitoring, pain management, IV-to-PO conversion, renal dosing, and other clinical programs.
• Document clinical activities and interventions accurately and completely.
• Complete medication error and adverse drug reaction reports.
• Supervise pharmacy operations and provide support to the pharmacy team.

Qualifications:

• PGY1 completion, new graduates, or inpatient experience highly preferred.
• Candidates without inpatient experience may be considered if within 5 years of graduation.
• Long-term retail-only candidates are not preferred.
• B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Minimum 1 year of hospital experience preferred.
• Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the Florida State Board of Pharmacy.
• Strong team player with an interest in long-term growth.

Salary:
• 2nd Shift Differential: $2.00/hr
• 3rd Shift Differential: $4.25/hr
• Extra Shift Premium: $3.00/hr
• Sign-On Bonus: None
