Work Environment

The work setting for this role is a state-of-the-art hospital rehabilitation clinic in North Las Vegas, Nevada. Our facility features modern equipment and technology designed to support innovative rehabilitation techniques. As a PTA, you will work alongside a team of experienced Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists, fostering a collaborative culture that prioritizes patient health and recovery. This role typically follows a schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility required to meet patient needs and operational demands.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will be entrusted with a variety of responsibilities that contribute directly to patient recovery, including:

• Assisting Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans designed to enhance mobility, strength, and overall functionality for patients across multiple rehabilitation programs.
• Guiding patients through prescribed therapeutic exercises and stretches, ensuring correct techniques to maximize recovery and minimize the risk of injury.
• Educating patients and their families on body mechanics, exercise techniques, and home exercise programs to facilitate ongoing recovery efforts.
• Administering therapeutic modalities, such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Monitoring and accurately documenting patient progress, including improvements in range of motion, strength, and functional abilities.
• Preparing treatment areas and managing therapy equipment and supplies to ensure a safe and efficient therapy environment.
• Collaborating with other rehabilitation staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care, sharing insights and strategies to optimize treatment outcomes.
• Providing emotional support and motivation to patients during their rehabilitation, creating an encouraging and uplifting atmosphere.
• Adhering to ethical and professional standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and respect for patient rights at all times.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our rehabilitation clinic serves a diverse patient population, addressing a wide range of physical impairments and rehabilitative needs. You will engage with patients of varying age groups, from pediatric sports injuries to geriatric rehabilitation, ensuring that each treatment plan is personalized and responsive to the specific conditions of the individual.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• An Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• A solid foundation in anatomy, physiology, and the principles of physical therapy interventions.
• Proficiency in executing therapeutic exercises and applying therapeutic modalities under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interactions and collaboration within a healthcare team.
• A compassionate, patient-centered approach to care with a genuine desire to support and motivate patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of prioritizing and managing multiple tasks effectively.

Preferred Experience

Preferred candidates will have experience in a clinical rehabilitation setting, highlighting a demonstrated ability to work with a diverse patient population. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is also a plus, as it enhances collaboration and coordination across the interdisciplinary team.

Compensation and Benefits
