Dynamic Physical Therapist Assistant - Onsite in Las Vegas

Position Overview

We are actively seeking a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to become an integral part of the Preferred Therapy Center team in beautiful Las Vegas, Nevada. This role involves direct patient care, where you will assist physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans designed to enhance patient mobility, strength, and overall functionality.

Work Environment

Your work setting will be primarily onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility in Las Vegas, where a collaborative team of skilled professionals and support staff are committed to fostering an encouraging and motivating atmosphere for patients. Our operations run from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility to meet the changing needs of our patients and clinic.
Salary for this position ranges from $50,000 to $70,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with licensed Physical Therapists to develop and implement personalized treatment plans focused on enhancing patient mobility and quality of life.

• Guide patients through specific therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities to promote their physical well-being and alleviate discomfort.

• Instruct patients on proper body mechanics and home exercise programs, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery process.

• Administer therapeutic modalities (including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy) as directed by a supervising Physical Therapist.

• Monitor patient progress meticulously, maintaining documentation that includes evaluations of range of motion, strength improvements, and overall functional changes.

• Prepare and maintain treatment areas to ensure a safe and organized environment, enabling efficient care.

• Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team comprising Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists, to optimize patient care strategies.

• Support the emotional and motivational needs of patients, fostering an environment that encourages rehabilitation and recovery.

• Uphold the highest ethical standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and respect for individual rights at all times.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a PTA at Preferred Therapy Center, you will engage with a diverse array of patients, ranging from geriatric individuals recovering from surgery to active youth undergoing sports-related rehabilitation. Your role is pivotal in tailoring treatment approaches to fit the varied physical capabilities and health backgrounds of each client, facilitating their rehabilitative progress.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program, resulting in an Associate degree.

• Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

• Demonstrated understanding of human anatomy and physiology, along with comprehensive knowledge of physical therapy modalities and interventions.

• Strong proficiency in executing therapeutic exercises as directed by a supervising Physical Therapist.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients and team members.

• A compassionate and patient-centered approach to care, with a drive to support patients in reaching their rehabilitation goals.

• Organizational skills and attention to detail that facilitate efficient management of therapy sessions and documentation.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a clinical setting, particularly within rehabilitation centers.

• Experience working with specific populations, such as pediatric or geriatric patients.

• Education or training in emerging therapy technologies or innovative rehabilitation techniques.
