La Strada Italian Kitchen & Bar is looking for an experienced, motivated, and dependable Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Chef/Owner to maintain high food quality, consistency, presentation, and kitchen efficiency.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- Assist the Chef/Owner with daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipes, quality standards, and plating specifications.
- Maintain consistent food quality, portion control, and presentation.
- Help organize and coordinate kitchen stations before, during, and after service.
- Train, guide, and support cooks and other kitchen employees.
- Monitor food preparation, cooking times, and ticket flow during busy services.
- Maintain proper food storage, labeling, rotation, and inventory procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with the Chef, kitchen staff, servers, and management.
- Help maintain a positive, professional, and respectful kitchen environment.
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Chef de Partie, Lead Cook, or similar kitchen leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of professional cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
- Experience with Italian cuisine is a must.
- Ability to lead a team and remain calm under pressure.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
