Benefits Coordinator
The Benefits Coordinator role will be responsible for administering, coordinating, and supporting employee benefits programs, including health, retirement, and wellness initiatives. In addition, this role will partner with highly skilled professionals across the business and external vendors to ensure efficient processes, accurate benefits administration, and clear employee communication. This candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about delivering a positive employee experience. In addition, the person in this role will have the mentality to think like a business owner and take a proactive yet collaborative approach to supporting organizational goals. This position reports directly to the Human Resources Manager or Director of Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist employees with benefits-related questions, eligibility, and enrollment
- Process new hire enrollments, life event changes, and terminations in benefit systems
- Maintain accurate benefits records in HRIS and ensure data integrity
- Coordinate with insurance carriers and vendors to resolve issues
- Assist with benefits billing, audits, and reconciliation
- Support annual open enrollment, including communications and setup
- Prepare and distribute benefit materials, guides, and communications
- Monitor compliance with federal and state regulations (FMLA, ACA, COBRA, etc.)
- Track employee leave and ensure proper documentation
- Assist with wellness programs and employee engagement activities
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to explain benefits information clearly
- Familiarity with benefits administration or HRIS systems (ADP, Workday, UKG, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HR documentation
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
