Position Summary:
Every meal our Chef creates is more than food, it's dignity, nourishment, and care delivered to neighbors facing hunger and food insecurity. This role blends real culinary craft with mission-driven purpose: planning and preparing high-quality, nutritious meals at scale, safely and efficiently, for individuals and families across our community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and prepare menus that meet diverse cultural and dietary needs
• Lead and mentor kitchen volunteers, interns, and staff for smooth, high-volume service
• Keep the kitchen organized, clean, and equipment well-maintained
• Manage inventory, donations, and storage of perishable and nonperishable ingredients
• Cut waste through creative, resourceful menu planning
• Uphold health department, ServSafe, and nonprofit food program standards

Qualifications:

• High-volume cooking experience; nonprofit or community kitchen background a plus
• 2–4 years of kitchen experience, including some supervisory responsibility
• ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety knowledge
• Strong organization, communication, and mentoring skills; comfortable leading both staff and volunteers
• A genuine commitment to feeding the community with dignity and respect

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work occasional evenings or weekends.
