Description:
Nights 6 on 8 off, 1800-0630.
Cares for and treats all patients with respiratory and cardiac illnesses.
Evidence of continuing education appropriate for the skill level and specific areas of practice is required.
Demonstrates the ability to perform in technical, clerical, and interpersonal aspects.
Performs all aspects of care for patients with COPD, asthma, and interstitial lung disease.
Utilizes clinical skills to evaluate patients' physical and mental status.
Anticipates patient and staff needs effectively.
Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Competent and efficient in group class settings.
Proficient in monitoring patients on ventilatory support and identifying cardiopulmonary symptoms.
Ability to communicate effectively, problem solve, and work as part of a team.
Maintains current knowledge of regulatory standards, patient safety goals, and other requirements.
Supports the organization's mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
Participates in required education for applicable programs.
Agency nurses may be floated to other departments where they are qualified to perform patient care.
Performs other related duties as assigned.


Physical Requirements:
Sufficient auditory ability to detect and respond to various sounds, including patient alarms and verbal communication.
Clear and effective communication is essential for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Visual acuity is necessary for observing patient conditions, reading documentation, and distinguishing colors for clinical purposes.
Tactile perception is important for assessing physical characteristics during patient care.
Motor coordination is required for reaching, grasping, handling, and performing fine motor tasks necessary for medical procedures.
May involve occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Walking and standing are typically continuous throughout the shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently.
Frequent pushing, pulling, carrying, or repositioning of objects or patients up to 25 pounds.
Occasional lifting or transferring of individuals weighing over 100 pounds, with appropriate techniques and assistance.


Working Conditions:
Performs primarily in an indoor healthcare environment.
Subject to variable indoor temperatures.
Frequent exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and medical equipment.
Expectations to follow appropriate safety protocols and utilize personal protective equipment.
Work environment can be fast-paced and unpredictable.
Ability to respond quickly to changing circumstances, including emergencies.
Involves multiple simultaneous demands and varying levels of noise.
