Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients.

• Collaborate with clients to develop individualized and actionable treatment plans that align with their personal goals and preferences.

• Implement evidence-based treatment methodologies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to address mood-related challenges.

• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies to promote informed decision-making.

• Regularly monitor client progress, adapting treatment plans as needed to ensure the effectiveness of interventions.

• Work in tandem with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care that addresses both mental and physical health needs.

• Stay current with the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatments to enhance therapeutic strategies.

• Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

• Engage in ongoing professional development through case discussions, team meetings, and relevant training programs.

• Advocate for clients, ensuring their voices are heard and their mental health needs met while actively combating the stigma associated with mental illness.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily focus on individuals coping with mood disorders, including depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. You will also serve special populations such as homeless individuals, refugees, domestic abuse survivors, and others facing systematic challenges. Your understanding and empathy towards their unique situations will be vital in fostering meaningful therapeutic relationships and effective interventions.

Qualifications\n

• Current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is essential.
