We are a small workers' compensation defense firm in need of a full-time legal assistant. We pride ourselves on a comfortable and fun work environment. We encourage growth among our employees and are always willing to provide mentorship to those thinking about law school or other positions in the legal field.
Our ideal candidate is responsible, professional, types at least 60 WPM, and is a fast learner.
There are opportunities for growth based on performance. The starting rate is $21/hr, however, we will provide a review with a possible raise after 90 days. The position is in person.
Responsibilities would include:
- Data Entry
- Filing
- Faxing
- Preparing files and medical exhibits for court hearings and depositions
- Mailing and Serving, including legal and medical documents
- Copying, scanning, and scheduling/calendaring
- General office responsibilities
- Preparing legal notices
- Communication with clients, witnesses, etc
- Transcription of dictation
- Answer and direct phone calls
Requirements:
- Must be punctual, organized, reliable and detail oriented
- Must be professional and work well in a team environment
- Must be able to both take direction and work independently
- Legal experience is preferred, but not required.
