Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care and overseeing all functions within the unit or department during their assigned shift. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC directs, monitors, and assesses nursing care in line with established policies and procedures. They serve as a resource for staff and exemplify a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values, thereby enhancing the patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitates admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
• Engages in continuous assessment of the quality of patient care services in collaboration with the management team.
• Works with subject matter experts and other managers to foster a collaborative environment that enhances outcomes and service quality.
• Advocates for a patient-first approach and participates in service recovery when needed.
• Assists in enhancing staff engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly check-ins.
• Provides input on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, and recommends actions related to training, conflict resolution, policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a competitive organization.
• Helps with staff scheduling and manages labor aspects in accordance with patient care needs and productivity standards.
• Ensures proper inventory management and assists in overseeing supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Training:

• Must be currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice or possess an active compact license, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
