About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Medical-Surgical (MS) and oncology experience. Hematology/Oncology experience strongly preferred. License: Valid state nursing license required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Must-Have: - Current acute care experience in oncology specialty within the last 12 months. - EPIC computerized charting experience required. Description: This position entails providing care to patients in a Bone Marrow Transplant unit with an oncology focus. Nurses will work in a mixed acuity Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical-Surgical (MS) unit. The unit includes patients diagnosed with various hematological malignancies, including Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Acute Myeloid Leukemia, and others. Experience in administering blood products and managing central lines is essential. Nurses will be responsible for telemetry monitoring and interpreting dysrhythmias. Feeding tube care and management are also part of the duties. Candidates should be comfortable with infection prevention protocols and fall prevention strategies. This unit performs autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic transplants. A strong emphasis will be placed on patient safety and quality of care. Nurses may be scheduled for day, night, or a combination of shifts, depending on unit needs. Flexibility with scheduling is required.
