Industrial Painter - 1st Shift

Industrial PainterPay: $21.00 per hour Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM Overtime: Currently scheduled on most Fridays Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Industrial Painter to prepare and paint industrial machinery, equipment, and manufactured parts. The ideal candidate will have previous industrial painting experience and be comfortable working with paint spraying equipment, surface preparation, masking, mixing coatings, and inspecting finished products for quality. This is a hands-on position in a manufacturing environment where attention to detail, safety, and the ability to work independently are important.ResponsibilitiesPrepare metal surfaces and manufactured parts for painting and other protective or decorative coatings.Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and specifications to verify parts are ready for painting.Prepare, mix, and apply paints, coatings, enamels, or other finishing materials according to specifications.Operate paint spraying equipment to apply coatings evenly and accurately.Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to properly prepare surfaces.Mask areas that should not receive paint or coating.Inspect completed parts and equipment to ensure proper coverage and identify runs, defects, or other imperfections.Make adjustments to the painting process as needed to achieve the required finish.Maintain accurate records of coatings and compounds used.Clean and maintain paint booths, spray equipment, filters, tools, and related equipment.Properly store paint, chemicals, and other compounds.Safely dispose of used rags, disposable equipment, and chemical materials according to established procedures.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.Follow all required safety procedures, including the proper use of respirators and PPE.Assist other departments and perform additional duties as needed.QualificationsPrevious industrial painting experience is required.Experience painting industrial machinery, equipment, fabricated parts, or similar products.Experience with paint spraying equipment and industrial coatings.Ability to read and follow blueprints, drawings, and detailed written or verbal instructions.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.Ability to properly mix and prepare paint and coating materials.Ability to identify and correct common painting defects such as runs, uneven coverage, or missed areas.Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.Willingness to learn new processes and equipment.Ability to work cooperatively with others in a manufacturing environment.Technical training or certification in painting or a related field is a plus, but not required.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods of time.Frequent walking, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and bending.Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds.Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and painting equipment.Must have the visual ability to inspect surfaces, finishes, colors, and coating quality.Work EnvironmentManufacturing/industrial environment.Exposure to paint, coatings, chemicals, fumes, and moving equipment.PPE and respiratory protection are required during painting operations as applicable.Work may involve loud machinery and other typical manufacturing conditions.If you have hands-on industrial painting experience and are looking for a stable 1st-shift opportunity with consistent overtime potential, this could be a great fit.
