Accounts Payable Specialist (Contract-to-Hire)

Naperville, IL (Hybrid - 3 days a week)

Hourly Rate: $26-$28
Contract with potential for permanent hire

Our client, a growing international manufacturing organization, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team. This opportunity is open due to a temporary leave of absence and offers the potential for long-term employment based on performance and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Process and review approximately 400 invoices per month
  
• Perform invoice matching, coding, and payment processing
  
• Handle ACH, wire, and credit card transactions
  
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  
• Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  
• Support financial analysis, forecasting, and general accounting functions
  
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
  
• Utilize Excel for reporting, reconciliation, and data analysis activities
  

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience
  
• Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
  
• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
  
• Experience working with ERP systems
  
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
  
• Manufacturing experience or exposure to inventory-based environments is highly preferred
  
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously

• General accounting experience beyond AP
  
• Financial analysis or forecasting exposure
  
• Manufacturing experience
