Plant Accountant

Our client, a growing manufacturer in the wire harness and cable assembly space , is seeking a hands-on Plant Accountant / Controller to support plant-level financial operations and partner closely with leadership. This role will own cost accounting, margin analysis, FP&A, and month-end close , while working directly with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to drive profitability and improve financial performance. Key Responsibilities Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis Ensure GAAP compliance and support internal/external audits Cost Accounting & Analysis Manage standard costing, labor rates, overhead, and material costs Partner with Operations to identify cost savings and efficiency improvements Margin & Profitability Perform product and customer-level margin analysis Identify risks and opportunities to improve gross margin FP&A & Forecasting Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Build models for headcount, capital spend, and pricing decisionsTrack KPIs such as productivity, utilization, and cost per unit Business Partnership Act as a financial partner to plant leadership Support new program launches and NPI cost tracking Collaborate with Supply Chain on inventory, cash flow, and materials strategy Provide input on make vs. buy decisions and capital investments Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3–7+ years of manufacturing / plant accounting experience Strong background in cost accounting and margin analysis Hands-on experience with month-end close Advanced Excel skills Preferred: Wire harness, electronics, or complex assembly manufacturing experience FP&A exposure supporting plant operations CPA, CMA, or MBA Why This Role High visibility role partnering directly with plant leadership Strong mix of accounting + operational finance Opportunity to make a direct impact on plant performance #J-18808-Ljbffr Contract Professionals, Inc.
