Position OverviewRecruitWell is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for locum tenens coverage at UPHS- Portage in Hancock, Michigan. This is a scheduled clinical hours opportunity providing FMLA coverage in the Emergency Department. The assignment runs from October 1, 2026 through November 24, 2026, with potential for ongoing future dates.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide emergency medicine coverage in the ED with the following schedule:
October:
10/2 & 10/3, 8am - 8pm
10/18 - 10/19, 8am - 8pm
10/23 - 10/25, 8am - 8pm
November:
11/5 - 11/8, 8am - 8pm
11/12 - 11/15, 8am - 8pm
11/21 - 11/24, 8am - 8pm
Onsite orientation required 1 day prior to first block of assigned shifts.
Average patient encounters: 36 patients per day
Average admissions per shift: 3 per day
Coverage: 7 days a week as scheduled
Setting: Both inpatient and outpatient
Candidate RequirementsBoard Certification in Emergency Medicine - REQUIRED
Active physician license in Michigan or IMLC
Hospital privileges required (temporary privileges available in needed situations)
Credentialing timeline: 30 days or as fast as provider can submit required documents
No fellowship requirement
