Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, rotating weekdays and weekends with rotating holidays. 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio. Float required within the health system as needed.

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit specializing in cardiac patients with a diverse case mix including chronic ventilator management and post-lung transplant care
• Epic EMR charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Respiratory Services, and Physical Therapy
• 13-week travel assignment with orientation provided (36 hours)
• First-time travelers welcome with appropriate experience
• Weekend requirement: 4 shifts per every 4-week period
• Pre-approved time off available (up to two requests per contract)

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of PCU, Step-Down, IMC, or DOU nursing experience required
• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
• 2 professional references required, including at least one from a formal leadership position
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing

Essential Skills:

• Cardiac telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Titration of cardiac and insulin drips
• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line management
• Blood product administration and heparin protocols
• Ventilated patient care and tracheostomy management
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and BiPAP/CPAP management
• Chest tube management, feeding tube care, and ABG interpretation
• Pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
