About the Position

Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week with every other weekend required. Float required within the facility system as needed.

• Patient population includes bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, post-surgical overflow, and general medicine

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care, Step-Down, or Telemetry nursing experience
• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass Telemetry competency test
• Experience monitoring telemetry patients required
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required: at least 1 from manager/director or formal leadership; Charge RN acceptable for second reference

Essential Skills:

• Telemetry monitoring (unit-based and remote), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Central line and PICC line care/management
• IV insulin and Heparin protocol management, titration of insulin drips
• Blood product administration and PCA pump management
• Non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration
• Wound care/wound vac, surgical drain management
• Starting and maintaining peripheral IVs, phlebotomy
• Isolation precautions/PPE and use of Rapid Response/Code teams

Important Compliance Information:

• Strict compliance deadline: Tuesday prior to start date (no exceptions)
• Ohio fingerprinting must be completed immediately upon contract signing
• Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to Ohio for fingerprinting as soon as possible after booking
• Candidates at extreme distances will receive mailed fingerprinting packets to be completed urgently
• Unresponsive or uncooperative candidates risk assignment push/cancellation
• Former employees eligible after 6 months away from the facility; current employees ineligible
