Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Night Shift – Columbus, Ohio

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, every other weekend (Friday and Saturday nights)

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Step-down) setting with a diverse cardiac and medical patient population
• Daily census of 34 patients with 44 total beds across 38 rooms serving adult and geriatric populations
• EMR system: Epic (preferred experience)
• 32 hours of orientation provided to ensure successful transition
• Flexibility for first-time travel nurses with at least 1 year of acute care experience
• Float required within the health system to support interdisciplinary patient care needs

Requirements:

• Active and valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of application)
• Minimum 1 year of current, consistent acute care experience in PCU, Step-down, IMC, or DOU settings
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Previous telemetry experience with strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips
• Proficiency in starting and maintaining IVs, peripheral line care, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required: at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference
• Completion of Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
