Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float Pool RN – Ohio

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Central Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week. Weekend shifts assigned according to staffing needs. Float pool position requiring flexibility to work across multiple units within the hospital system.

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) float pool role with step-down/intermediate care patient population
• 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends
• Epic charting system utilized throughout the facility
• 36 hours of comprehensive orientation provided
• Robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
• May float to affiliated hospital locations within close walking distance (approximately 5-6 minutes)

Requirements:

• Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of progressive care or step-down nursing experience
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in IV starts and cardiac telemetry
• Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role
• Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Central line and PICC line care/management
• Blood product administration and phlebotomy
• Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• BiPAP/CPAP and high flow nasal cannula management
• Arterial line management and ABG interpretation
• Pre/post hemodialysis and neurosurgery patient care
• Tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and wound care/wound vac
• IV insulin and heparin protocol management
