About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Columbus, Ohio, 43210!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 16 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience. License: Valid nursing license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; ONS Chemo preferred. Must-Have: Strong experience in a busy surgical oncology unit; experience with chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and oncologic emergencies. Description: This is a mixed acuity unit that cares for both PCU and Med-Surg patients. The unit handles a busy patient load with various surgical oncology cases. All permanent staff is trained in PCU. The goal staffing ratio is 1:4, but can be 1:5 based on unit needs. Weekend shifts are variable based on the needs of the unit. All travelers may be required to float within their scope of practice. Nights and days may be assigned based on departmental needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every four weeks, but changes are not guaranteed. Patients are primarily adults and geriatrics with diagnoses including surgical oncology, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and plastics. Special procedures include chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotic administration, and management of oncologic emergencies. The focus is heavily on infection prevention and fall protocols. Experience with computerized charting systems, particularly Epic, is required. Candidates must have current acute care experience and must have worked consistently in the last 12 months. References from professional capacity must be provided. All candidates must comply with credentialing requirements.
