About the Position

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36 hours per week, Day/Night Rotating schedule based on organizational needs. Every other weekend required. Flexibility to work both days and nights as assigned.

Highlights:

• Surgical Step-Down Progressive Care Unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 3-4:1 (target 3:1)
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic experience required
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Float may be required to other units within the organization based on operational needs
• First-time travelers welcome (profiles subject to manager review for candidates with only 1 year of experience)
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care, Step-Down, or Telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must successfully pass Telemetry competency test
• Experience monitoring telemetry patients required
• Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor; Charge RN acceptable for second reference

Clinical Skills:

• Telemetry monitoring (unit-based and remote), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Central line and PICC line care/management, peripheral IV insertion and maintenance
• Blood product administration, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, and titration of insulin drips
• Non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, PCA management
• Wound care/wound vac, surgical drain management, phlebotomy
• Isolation precautions/PPE, rapid response/code team utilization

Patient Population:

• Adult and geriatric patients
• Post-surgical patients including bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, and general surgical overflow
• General medicine patients

Important Compliance Information:

• Strict compliance deadline: Tuesday prior to start date with no exceptions
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed immediately upon contract signing
• Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to Ohio for fingerprinting as soon as possible after booking
• Former employees eligible after 6 months away from the facility; current employees not eligible
• Time off requests must be submitted with application and built into contract
