Employee Relations Specialist

Employee Relations Specialist The Employee Relations Specialist serves as the center of expertise for Endeavor Human Resources policies, practices and procedures. The ER Specialist administers and assists management in the application of corporate policies and activities to ensure consistency. This position, in partnership with Business HR, serves as an advocate for employees and internal consultant to managers regarding complex employee relations matters. This includes Endeavor Health policy interpretation, guidance on corrective actions and investigations, and positive employee relations strategies. Hourly Pay Range: $32.60 - $48.90 – the hourly pay rate is determined by a candidate’s expertise and years of experience. Position Highlights Position: Employee Relations Specialist Location: Skokie, IL Full Time/Part Time: Full Time Hours: Monday‑Friday, 8am‑4:30pm Required Travel: Position requires travel between Endeavor entities. What you will do Investigate complaints and/or charges filed both internally and externally regarding violations of Endeavor policies, state and federal laws governing employment practices, and prepare appropriate responses. Review all corrective actions; review requests for suspensions and terminations to ensure compliance with Endeavor policies and procedures. Gather and organize all necessary documentation for information requests and assist in hearings as necessary. Provide investigatory support to Director in complex employee relations matters and in the employee resolution process. Assist Director and outside legal counsel in preparation for unemployment and government agency hearings. Serve as an internal consultant to managers regarding complex employee relations matters, NorthShore policy interpretation and application, wage and hour compliance, FMLA, Harassment policy, Leave of Absence policies, and union avoidance strategies. Partner with Director to prepare and present management training in connection with employment practices, changes in policies and procedures, and in‑service education as warranted. Ensure consistency with practice and administration of policies and procedures. Represent Human Resources on various Endeavor committees as assigned. Participate in organization initiatives as assigned by Director. Other duties as assigned. What you will need Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field. Experience: 3 years+ HR generalist and/or employee relations experience required, preferably in a healthcare setting; labor relations experience preferred.
