About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Art Director with strong design craft, conceptual thinking, and an interactive focus. You see creative potential in any assignment and have the skills, curiosity, and follow-through to bring it to life. This role is for someone who wants to do excellent work, help others do the same, and enjoy the people they’re doing it with.

You’ll work independently and alongside a multidisciplinary team across brands, new business opportunities, and internal projects. Your work will range from developing concepts and digital experiences to refining layouts and preparing production materials. We value people who bring the same care to a presentation or a small design assignment as they do to a major campaign.

Broth is agile and fast-moving, so your assignments and responsibilities will evolve with business needs. You’ll manage multiple projects, respond thoughtfully to feedback, and adapt as priorities change. Success here takes resourcefulness, clear communication, attention to detail, and ownership, from keeping your work moving and flagging challenges early to asking for guidance when needed.

What you’ll do

Art & creative craft

• Develop concepts and designs grounded in the creative brief, strategy, tone, and audience insights.
\n
• Build a strong command of your brands’ science, data, and guidelines, along with a growing understanding of the category and competitive landscape.
\n
• Create integrated work across print and digital channels, including branding, logos, visual aids, interactive detail aids, websites, presentations, and other campaign materials.
\n
• Bring ideas to life through design, typography, infographics, data visualization, and imagery, collaborating with specialists.
\n
• Create comp imagery through sketching, stock imagery, internally created imagery, or AI tools, as appropriate.
\n
• Contribute consistently to concept development for client brands, individual projects, and new business opportunities.
\n
• Own small to mid-size tactical projects with limited supervision, balancing multiple assignments and seeking guidance when needed.
\n
• Incorporate feedback, solve creative challenges, and adapt approaches as projects evolve.
\n
• Prepare, revise, and route materials through review and approval, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality through final production.
\n
• Review visual materials throughout pre-production and production to ensure the creative vision is maintained.
\n
• Help select and collaborate with photographers, illustrators, animators, and other creative production partners.
\n
• Maintain organized design files, visual assets, and brand standards.
\n

Client & cross-functional collaboration

\n
• Collaborate closely with Copy, Account, Project Management, Medical, Editorial, and other team members to deliver on assignments.
\n
• Present concepts and designs internally and to clients, clearly explaining the thinking behind the work.
\n
• Contribute to discussions about workflow and timelines, communicating progress and identifying challenges early.
\n

Experience & qualifications

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Graphic Arts, Fine Arts, or a related field, with a strong foundation in visual communication.
\n
• 2+ years of art direction or design experience, including 1+ years in healthcare advertising.
\n
• A strong portfolio demonstrating innovative thinking, exceptional design, and the ability to bring compelling ideas to life across print and digital channels.
\n
• Expert proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, PowerPoint and Google Slides.
\n
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new AI tools and integrating them into creative workflows to enhance ideation, experimentation, and execution.
\n
• Strong command of composition, information hierarchy, color, and typography, with the ability to translate complex scientific information into clear, engaging visual stories.
\n
• Experience designing websites, apps, and other interactive experiences, with a working knowledge of UX principles and responsive and mobile design.
\n
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with the confidence to present work internally and to clients.
\n
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
\n

Additional skills that are a plus

\n
• Experience with animation, motion graphics, or video editing (After Effects or Premiere or Adobe Express).
\n
• Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and/or an interest in exploring AI-assisted coding tools (vibe coding) to prototype.
\n
• Experience with 3D design, photography, or illustration.
\n
