Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical Oncology/Telemetry unit, caring for adult and geriatric solid tumor cancer patients, with telemetry interpretation skills required.

Details

• Inpatient medical oncology/telemetry unit within a cancer hospital and research center
• Cares for adult and geriatric patients with all solid tumor cancer types, including breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, esophageal cancer, and patients receiving antineoplastic chemotherapy
• Covers the full cancer care spectrum — from new diagnosis through treatment and end-of-life transition
• Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention
• Nurse-to-patient ratio goal of 1:4, with potential for 1:5 depending on unit needs
• Day shifts (3x12, 7:00–19:30) and night shifts (3x12, 19:00–7:30) available
• Weekend scheduling is variable based on unit needs
• No set or blocked scheduling
• Floating required to other Med/Surg Oncology units
• Charting is performed in Epic

Requirements

• Active Ohio RN license or a valid compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Telemetry interpretation and telemetry monitoring skills required
• ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as a second reference — no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate — no radius restriction applies
• Former employees of this facility are eligible to return after a minimum 6-month separation
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract period
• Candidates are required to complete Ohio state fingerprinting promptly after accepting an offer — out-of-state candidates within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location, while those farther away will receive a fingerprinting packet by mail
• Fingerprinting must be completed urgently to avoid delays in starting the assignment
