The nurse will work with patients receiving chemotherapy and requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. Responsibilities include symptom management related to disease treatment, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety. The nursing staff will utilize equipment such as telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, and various infusion pumps. Key skills needed include access and management of ports, administration of blood products, and central line care. The position requires interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of IVs and chest tubes. Weekly scheduling may include a combination of day, night, and weekend shifts based on departmental needs. The focus is on providing high-quality and compassionate care for adult and geriatric patients with various oncological conditions.
