Overview
Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (L&D) is requested for a travel assignment in Templeton, California. Start date: 10/19/2026. Contract duration: 18 weeks. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: Night shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM (3x12). Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital. This role provides comprehensive obstetric nursing care across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including emergency situations and circulating for C-sections, with supervision and delegation of tasks to support staff as appropriate.

Responsibilities
- Plan and provide nursing care to obstetric patients across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including emergency events
- Assess fetal and maternal status, monitor amniotic fluid, vaginal bleeding, and overall well-being; respond to abnormalities with appropriate interventions
- Manage perinatal emergencies, including potential events such as crash C-sections, precipitous deliveries, and shoulder dystocia
- Assist with epidural catheter placement and monitor patient status during and after medication administration
- Educate patients and families about perinatal and postpartum care; document care and patient response clearly and timely
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement goal-oriented care plans; supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary staff within scope
- Provide circulating support for cesarean deliveries and ensure continuity of care under the LDRP model
- Maintain accurate EPIC-based documentation of nursing care, assessments, interventions, and outcomes

Requirements
- Active RN license in state of practice (California) required
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
- Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications; Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN) and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring coursework required
- EPIC experience is required
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced L&D environment and participate in night-shift rotations; no on-call required
- LDRP model experience preferred
