Staff Accountant

Accounting Support SpecialistResponsible for supporting the Accounting Department through accurate preparation, reconciliation, and maintenance of schedules. Assists with month-end close activities, account reconciliations, accrual entries, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting procedures. Works closely with accounting team members to maintain the integrity of financial data and support operational and management reporting needs.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts monthly.Maintain supporting schedules for accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, sublet, sales tax and other assigned general ledger accounts.Reconcile multiple bank accounts each month.Post journal entries related to accruals, reclasses, corrections, and recurring accounting transactions.Review account activity and investigate variances, discrepancies, and unusual transactions.Report and remitting all dealership locations sales taxFile annual 2290 and lemon law forms accordinglyReconcile all Accounts Payable pinnacle accountsAssist with month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial information is complete and accurate.Prepare documentation and support for audits, internal reviews, and management inquiries.Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with company policies, procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).Collaborate with branch personnel and other departments to obtain information necessary for reconciliation and financial reporting.Maintain organized electronic records and supporting documentation for assigned accounting functions.Perform other accounting and administrative duties as required.QualificationsAdvanced Excel skills requiredAccounting degree or work experience equivalentAbility to prioritize and multi-taskThrives in collaborative, team player environmentGreat verbal and written communication skillsAble to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervisionDealership knowledge preferredExcede or CDK software experience a plusPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Applicants Only - No RecruitersEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
