Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care UnitAmerican TravelerBurlington, North Carolina, United StatesAssignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 13$1,987.00/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit position requiring at least 2 years of cardiac PCU experience and NC/compact RN licensure.Details30-private bed Cardiac Medical Progressive Care Unit providing 24/7 careRooms are remotely monitored by the Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department (CCMD)Focus on cardiac patients including CHF, ACS, arrhythmias, pre/post cardiac catheterization, rule out MI, syncope, and pacemaker placementSecondary focus on respiratory conditions such as COPD, pneumonia, and BiPAP managementPatient ratios of 1:4 with drips/BiPAP, otherwise mostly 1:5Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AMWeekend rotation with holidays as neededNurse Assistants available 24/7 and RN secretary support from 7 AM-11 PMEPIC EMR requiredMay float to any Cone Health campus as neededRequirementsActive NC or compact RN license requiredBLS and ACLS certifications required, NIHSS preferredMinimum 2 years of RN experience required, preferably in cardiac PCU settingEPIC EMR experience requiredMust pass a compliance EKG exam (two attempts allowed)Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmiasSkilled in telemetry monitoring on the unitSkilled in management of peripheral and PICC linesSkilled in management of cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration preferred)Skilled in procedural sedation administration and monitoringSkilled in chest tube management (Emerson, Pleur-evac)Skilled in external CPAP/BiPAP and tracheostomy managementPrevious Charge RN experience preferredExperience with Rapid Response Teams preferredValid driver's license required for address verificationAdditional InformationProvide direct nursing care to cardiac and respiratory progressive care patientsStaff are scheduled for a 6-week period via a self-assisted scheduling system based on departmental need and patient acuityFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyMust reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates within this radius acceptedRTO requests must be submitted with the application; no post-submission RTO acceptedBackground checks must show no open casesEducation verification required through a third party
