POSITION TITLE: Executive Assistant to Nerman Family President DIVISION: Administration DEPARTMENT: Office of the Nerman Family President REPORTS TO: Nerman Family President PAY TYPE: Exempt WORKER TYPE: Full-Time UPDATED: June 2026

PAY: $65,000

The Executive Assistant works closely with the Nerman Family President in a variety of ways, serving as an advisor and manager of administrative, operational, and financial affairs for the office. The Executive Assistant oversees reporting needs, organizes the calendar and communications, coordinates special events with other departments and serves as the main administrative liaison between the Office of the President and multiple areas, including the President's Cabinet and KCAI's Board of Trustees. Essential Functional Responsibilities: Board Relations Serve as the primary liaison with the Board of Trustees and KCAI administration. Schedule and coordinate board meetings, prepare meeting materials including meeting minutes and ensure efficient communication with the board. Collaborate with the board to align strategic goals and priorities with the organization's mission. Strategic Initiatives Lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives aimed at achieving the organization's long-term goals. Manage updates to and timelines of the campus Strategic Plan, communicating all updates to senior leadership and the board for review and approval. Executive Support Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Nerman Family President, managing their schedule, correspondence, expense reporting and travel arrangements. Coordinate presentations, speeches, and reports on behalf of the Nerman Family President. Other duties as assigned. Operational Leadership Oversee daily operations of the office, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. Responsible for adhering to the approved budget for the office, meeting quarterly with the AVP of Finance to review budget performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive organizational goals. Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including staff, faculty, trustees, donors, and external collaborators. Manage and resolve conflicts in a professional and timely manner. Supervises the following: N/A Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are crucial, with the ability to build strong relationships and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Analytical and problem‑solving skills to assess data and make informed decisions. Knowledge of best practices in organizational leadership, governance, and campus community engagement. Proficiency in Google & Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent project management skills, attention to detail, and collaboration with leadership throughout the College. Demonstrated experience exercising judgment, project planning and goal accomplishment; wide degree of professional maturity and discretion expected. Understanding of the mission, role, and function of higher education in general. Proven ability to work independent of direct supervision and take initiative without specific instructions. Ability to deal with constantly changing demands, frequent interruptions, and scheduling changes while remaining organized and seeing projects through to completion. Ability to partner with others across the College and externally to exchange information, collaborate on projects, share resources, etc. Required Experience/Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Proven experience in a similar role. Strong understanding of board governance and organizational strategy. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion. Preferred Experience/Education: Experience working in a non‑profit organization or an institute of higher education. Previous experience providing administrative support to a CEO, CFO, COO or other executive leader.
