Your culinary expertise, combined with your ability to inspire others, ensures every event is a success. In the role of Banquet Chef , you will support the Executive Chef and lead the kitchen staff. Responsibilities Mentor – work with cooks, trainees, and support staff to deliver guests’ vision for their event. Train and develop them to make great food in quantity. Foster teamwork and ensure all work safely, including ice and fruit carving. Take charge in the Executive Chef’s absence if requested. Learn and Innovate – acquire new culinary techniques, skills, and recipes. Manage people, scheduling, budgeting, ordering, and other financial responsibilities of the kitchen. Oversee safe production, preparation, and presentation of food. Safety & Security Agent – follow the hotel’s safety and security policies and procedures and ensure the team follows all sanitation and safe food handling procedures. Job Requirements At least 3 years of progressive experience in food & beverage (culinary) with specific experience in pastry and garde manger preferred. Relevant college coursework and full experience in using various pieces of kitchen equipment. Physical requirements: able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently. Stand for long periods, bend, stretch, twist, reach, work under variable temperatures and noise levels, see details at close range, move quickly and agilely. Able to work long hours as required and to multitask. Good communication skills in English.
