Work Environment\n

As a remote-based mental health counselor, you will operate from the comfort of your home, allowing flexibility while maintaining a close connection with the clients you serve. Our community health clinic integrates modern technology to ensure effective communication and seamless service delivery. You will be equipped with access to electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, enabling you to efficiently document interactions and monitor client progress.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews and maintain detailed documentation from initial consultations through to the conclusion of treatment.
\n
• Evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health, using a variety of assessment tools and methodologies.
\n
• Develop individualized treatment and recovery plans catered to the needs of clients, including individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, while employing effective therapeutic techniques focused on promoting healing and resilience.
\n
• Regularly monitor and document client progress in accordance with the treatment plan.
\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to enhance comprehensive care.
\n
• Follow up with healthcare providers regarding clients admitted to hospitals, ensuring continuity of care.
\n
• Proactively identify and mitigate behaviors that hinder recovery, offering strategies and support for both clients and their families.
\n
• Empower family members and caregivers to understand and navigate mental health challenges effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our client base ranges from children and adolescents to adults and families, each requiring tailored approaches based on their unique experiences and challenges. Many clients face issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties. Your role will be pivotal in guiding them towards recovery through evidence-based interventions and compassionate support.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
\n
• Possession of current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Texas is essential.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Strong proficiency in using electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR.
\n
• Demonstrated clinical insight, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
\n
• In-depth understanding of the interplay between mental health issues and physical health, including addiction disorders.
\n
• Familiarity with best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor, ideally in a community health setting that emphasizes team collaboration.

• A history of working with diverse populations and understanding their unique socio-cultural backgrounds.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The yearly salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience. Additionally, new team members can look forward to an attractive sign-on bonus.
