We are looking for a Assistant Director of Housekeeping to join the team at The Sunny Hotel in Sunny Isles Beach.
About The Sunny:
The Sunny is a new oceanfront hotel in Sunny Isles Beach, marking the transformation of the historic Newport Beachside Hotel into a modern beachfront destination. The 340-room property blends thoughtful design with a strong food and beverage program, multiple dining concepts, and a series of lively social spaces designed for both guests and the local community.
Family-owned for three generations, the property builds on decades of hospitality on one of South Florida’s most storied beachfront sites. With a completely refreshed guest experience and an ambitious culinary program, The Sunny represents a new chapter for this longtime Sunny Isles Beach landmark.
Job Description
The Assistant Director of Housekeeping supports the overall operation of the Housekeeping department to ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for all guests. This role assists in leading daily operations, maintaining Forbes-level service standards, and driving consistency across guest rooms and public spaces.
The Assistant Director of Housekeeping partners closely with the Director of Housekeeping to manage team performance, staffing, training, and quality assurance. This position plays a key role in ensuring all areas of the property reflect the brand’s commitment to exceptional guest experience and attention to detail.
Responsibilities include supervising housekeeping staff, conducting inspections, managing inventory and supplies, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring adherence to all safety, sanitation, and brand standards. The role requires a hands-on leader who can motivate teams, anticipate guest needs, and resolve issues efficiently.
Qualitfications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in housekeeping management, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and industry trends
- Proficiency in housekeeping software and technology
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and weekends as needed
