Senior Director, Pathology Diagnostics - Global Oncology

AstraZeneca seeks a Senior Director to lead global scientific strategy for pathology diagnostics in oncology, focusing on digital and computational pathology. The role directs biomarker adoption, clinical evidence generation, medical education, and real-world data initiatives across the company's oncology diagnostic portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute global scientific strategy for pathologic diagnosis and digital pathology
- Coordinate oncology diagnostic activities across regions and countries with cross-functional partners
- Lead clinical evidence generation in collaboration with Oncology Medical Affairs teams
- Champion digital and computational pathology leadership at major scientific congresses and forums
- Oversee real-world data generation for pathology diagnostic solutions using advanced analytics
Requirements
- MD or DO from accredited medical school, or PhD degree
- 5+ years in medical affairs, diagnostics, biopharmaceutical industry, or academia
- Experience or substantial exposure to digital and/or computational pathology
- Pathology residency and fellowship in clinical or molecular subspecialty (preferred)
- 5+ years medical affairs experience in biotech, pharma, or CRO settings (preferred)
- Knowledge of global regulatory frameworks, GCP, and companion diagnostic development
- Stakeholder engagement skills including advocacy groups and payer collaborations
Compensation: $247,786 - $371,679 USD base annually
