An innovative advanced reactor developer is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Licensing Manager to join its growing Regulatory Affairs organization. This fully remote role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about advancing next‑generation nuclear technology. The Licensing Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s regulatory strategy, guiding engineering teams through licensing requirements, and ensuring that all activities align with applicable federal nuclear regulations. This position involves interpreting complex regulatory frameworks, developing licensing documentation, and supporting both pre‑application and license application efforts for advanced reactor technologies. The Licensing Manager will collaborate closely with design, safety analysis, operations, and executive teams to ensure that regulatory considerations are integrated throughout the product development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Prepare, review, and maintain licensing documents including applications, amendments, technical reports, safety analyses, and environmental evaluations. Ensure accuracy, clarity, and technical adequacy of all licensing submittals. Develop and refine licensing strategies to support both near‑term and long‑term regulatory milestones. Maintain an in-depth understanding of licensing basis, regulatory commitments, and evolving regulatory expectations. Regulatory Interpretation & Analysis Interpret and apply nuclear regulations, guidance documents, and regulatory precedents applicable to advanced reactor systems. Assess and communicate the impact of new or revised regulations on design, operations, and project timelines. Provide expert guidance to internal engineering and leadership teams on regulatory requirements and compliance pathways. Regulator Engagement Coordinate and participate in interactions with regulatory bodies (e.g., U.S. NRC), including audits, inspections, technical exchanges, and Requests for Additional Information (RAI). Support preparation and defense of licensing positions, especially in areas where regulatory frameworks are emerging or evolving. Assist in developing regulatory engagement plans and schedules. Cross‑Functional Engineering Support Work closely with design engineers to ensure system designs and design changes align with regulatory expectations. Support development of engineering requirements and documentation for nuclear systems and components. Review technical analyses and operational procedures for consistency with licensing bases. Compliance Assurance Contribute to the creation and improvement of internal programs and processes that ensure regulatory compliance. Track, manage, and verify closure of regulatory commitments, corrective actions, and inspection findings. Support and at times lead internal audits related to licensing and compliance. Prepare and deliver briefings, presentations, and technical content to internal teams and external stakeholders. Support the development of training materials focused on regulatory awareness and licensing processes. Lead or support resolution of key strategic licensing issues that influence project direction. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical) or related technical/scientific field. 5+ years of experience in nuclear licensing, regulatory affairs, nuclear engineering, or related technical discipline. Demonstrated experience with nuclear regulations and guidance (e.g., 10 CFR Parts 50/52, NRC Regulatory Guides, NUREGs). Familiarity with reactor systems, safety analysis, risk‑informed approaches, or environmental regulations. Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities with a high attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical content clearly. Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications Experience working on advanced reactor technologies or within early‑stage nuclear development programs. Prior involvement in pre‑application interactions or first‑of‑a‑kind (FOAK) licensing activities. Experience managing complex projects with competing priorities and tight regulatory timelines. Ability to translate strategic regulatory goals into well‑structured licensing deliverables. #J-18808-Ljbffr
