Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients with orthopedic conditions, reviewing medical histories and performing specific physical assessments to develop personalized treatment plans.
• Educate patients and their families on evaluation findings and proposed treatment strategies, ensuring active participation in goal-setting and recovery processes.
• Implement evidence-based treatment protocols tailored to individual patient needs, adapting to their evolving health while consistently demonstrating clinical proficiency.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as necessary, recognizing signs that may require modifications to the plan of care or referrals for additional medical or rehabilitation consultations.
• Manage detailed documentation of patient interactions, including initial evaluations, treatment progress, discharge planning, and recommendations, all while adhering to compliance regulations.
• Demonstrate effective time management skills, maintaining an organized schedule, meeting productivity benchmarks, and participating in community marketing initiatives.
• Contribute to departmental goals by fostering a culture of learning, serving as a clinical instructor for students and actively pursuing continuing education opportunities.
• Promote a seamless patient experience through flexibility in scheduling and responsiveness to patient needs, while engaging in initiatives aimed at improving access to care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse population of patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding patients towards improved mobility and functionality while offering personalized, compassionate care to ensure a positive therapeutic experience.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia.
• A minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in an orthopedic setting.
• Current CPR certification.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in home health care settings is highly desirable.
• Additional certifications in orthopedic specialty or advanced rehabilitation techniques will be considered an asset.
• Demonstrated experience in utilizing patient management software and electronic health record systems.
