Full-Time Physical Therapist for Orthopedic Outpatient Clinic in Richmond, VA

Position Overview

We are urgently seeking a dedicated full-time Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team at Overlake Joints and Bones Medical Clinic, located in the heart of Richmond, Virginia. This role is pivotal in enhancing the quality of life for our patients, assisting them in their journey toward improved mobility and functionality. In this position, you will engage directly with patients to deliver specialized care across various stages of promotion, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, intervention, and rehabilitation.

Our facility boasts 5,000 square feet of state-of-the-art sports medicine resources and is home to a collaborative team of skilled professionals, including fellow physical therapists and support staff. Our clinic predominantly serves patients with private medical insurance, ensuring access to high-quality treatment tailored to individual needs.

Work Environment

The practice operates within an onsite outpatient office setting that fosters collaboration and teamwork among healthcare professionals. You will be working in a supportive environment with two talented physical therapists and one physical therapist assistant (PTA). Our regular working hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand and prioritize the specific goals and needs of each patient to provide personalized therapeutic care.
• Manage a caseload that typically includes one patient per hour, ensuring focused and quality interactions.
• Leverage prior experience in orthopedic outpatient care to implement best practices and innovative treatment techniques.
• Develop and offer cost-effective treatment plans aimed at fostering improved patient movement and mobility.
• Favor non-surgical alternatives and promote the reduction of medication dependency among patients.
• Create comprehensive care plans that incorporate various therapeutic interventions.
• Design individualized fitness and wellness programs that align with patients' unique health goals.
• Deliver evidence-based care, closely monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment plans accordingly.
• Encourage and motivate patients, providing them with the necessary support throughout their rehabilitation journey.
• Emphasize lifestyle modifications that enhance strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination as part of patients' recovery.
• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic and well-rounded patient care.
• Regularly evaluate treatment outcomes, document services rendered, and maintain transparent communication with patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population primarily consists of individuals requiring physical therapy due to orthopedic conditions, including post-surgical stages, athletic injuries, and chronic pain issues. We take pride in approaching each patient holistically, understanding their unique circumstances, and tailoring our interventions to best meet their needs.

Qualifications

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree is required.
• Valid and active Physical Therapist license in Richmond, Virginia, without any board actions or disciplinary history.
• Demonstrated proficiency in manual therapy techniques and the ability to design effective exercise regimes.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, preferably WebPT, for efficient patient documentation and communication.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working within an orthopedic outpatient setting is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and their families.
• A background in sports medicine or rehabilitation therapy will be an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this role ranges from USD 90,000 to USD 110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
