Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of new patients, including comprehensive history reviews and specific assessments to establish precise treatment plans.
• Effectively communicate evaluation results and treatment strategies to patients and their families, encouraging their involvement in setting achievable rehabilitation goals.
• Implement tailored treatment protocols that align with the evaluation outcomes and adapt these as necessary based on patient progression and feedback.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and address any changes in the patient's condition.
• Document patient care activities, including initial evaluations, ongoing progress notes, and discharge summaries, maintaining clarity and accuracy in records to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Manage your time effectively to meet departmental productivity goals while maintaining an organized schedule to accommodate patient appointments.
• Participate in community outreach and marketing initiatives to promote physical therapy services and educate the public about the benefits of therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse population of patients, including those recovering from post-surgical procedures, sports injuries, chronic pain, neurological conditions, and various musculoskeletal disorders. Understanding each patient's unique circumstances and tailoring treatment to their specific needs is essential for achieving optimal outcomes and improving their overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required.
• A valid license to practice physical therapy in Virginia is necessary.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required.
