Key Responsibilities Develop CNC programs for 3-axis to 5-axis milling machines. Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machine parameters. Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and machinists on program implementation. Troubleshoot and modify existing programs to improve part quality and process reliability. Document programming processes, setup sheets, and tooling requirements. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM) for generating G-code. Strong understanding of CNC machining principles, including tooling, fixturing, and material properties. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD models to develop machining strategies. Experience with multi-axis milling (3, 4, or 5-axis) and complex part geometries. Knowledge of machine shop safety protocols and best practices. Troubleshooting skills for optimizing programs and resolving machining issues. Bonus Qualifications Experience with 5-axis programming. Proficiency in CAM software beyond basic G-code generation (e.g., advanced toolpath optimization, simulation). Familiarity with various control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Siemens) and their specific nuances. Ability to design and create custom fixturing for complex parts. Strong understanding of GD&T and its application in manufacturing processes.
