Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist

Southern Crescent is seeking a  Accounts Receivable/ Billing Specialist responsible for assigned insurance claims and patient balances until paid or turned over to collection agency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to patient inquiries, including explaining that cost estimates are not final and escalating concerns to management when needed
• Manage billing processes and coordinate surgery scheduling tasks
• Verify patient insurance benefits accurately
• Obtain and manage prior authorizations
• Provide cost estimates based on patient insurance coverage
• Work with patients who may have single or multiple insurance payers
• Perform charge posting and surgery scheduling; alternatively handle payment collections as an AR specialist
• Charge Posting and/or charge entry

Must Have Qualifications:

• 2-3 years of experience in AR/ billing
• Proficient in Epic EHR ( Epic Community Connect)
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 1 year experience with OB/GYN medical billing 
• 2 years experience with Waystar
• Familiarity with Availity and Georgia MMIS for eligibility, claims, and authorization workflows

Nice to Have Qualifications:

• Charge Posting and/or charge entry experience

Environment:

• Standard schedule is Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Friday: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
• Lunch 12:30-1:30 PM
• Travel- N/A
• Location: Fayetteville, GA

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly pay approximately $24/hr. depending on experience.
