Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a school-based contract opportunity supporting students from August 7 to June 10. This position calls for a skilled professional who excels in assessing and assisting children with a range of communication challenges in an educational setting. As a speech-language specialist, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with educators and families, making a positive difference in students’ lives throughout the academic year.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Professional Educator Certification is required
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders from a regionally accredited institution
- Comprehensive understanding of federal and state regulations regarding services and education for children with disabilities
- Strong grasp of pediatric and adolescent cognitive and physical development, as well as assessment tools related to disabilities
- Working knowledge of terminology associated with physical and learning disabilities
- Skill in data compilation and analysis, with the ability to interpret relevant policies and laws
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- ASHA Certification and ABSESPA Licensure are preferred
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and implement individualized interventions for students with diverse speech and language needs
- Interpret and apply legal requirements, policies, and eligibility guidelines in all services delivered
- Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and families to support student progress
- Maintain thorough records of assessments, progress, and compliance with applicable standards
- Prepare clear, effective reports and presentations as part of the educational team
