Patient Accounts Representative

Overview Heritage Oaks Hospital is part of the UHS Family of Providers and has been an integral part of the greater Sacramento and Northern California mental health system since 1988. Located in northern Sacramento, Heritage Oaks is a fully accredited, 125-bed acute psychiatric hospital offering a full range of individually tailored treatment services to adolescents, adults, and senior adults, including treatment for substance abuse and chemical dependency issues with drugs and alcohol. Heritage Oaks is a Medicare provider in addition to contracts with most commercial health insurance plans. The hospital is committed to providing service excellence and ensuring patients receive the optimal level of care for health and recovery. Responsibilities Prepare and submit insurance billings to primary and secondary payers. Transmit all billings to third-party payers, either manually or electronically as requested. Provide assistance in contacting third-party payers at a 30-day interval after billing to ensure bills have been received and are being processed. Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of experience in insurance billing is preferred. Any combination of education, training, or experience in a hospital business office is required. Experience with billing, computers, and business software programs is preferred. Additional Requirements: CPR certification required. May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours. Completion of Handle with Care class within 30 days of employment and prior to participating in a code green is required.
