Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct preliminary assessments during initial consultations to gather comprehensive insights into clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health.

• Document all interactions meticulously throughout the treatment process, ensuring accuracy from assessment through to discharge.
\n
• Develop individualized treatment and recovery plans that address the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate therapeutic sessions that are engaging, productive, and tailored to client goals, both in individual and group settings.
\n
• Regularly monitor sessions and progress to evaluate client responses to treatment, making necessary adjustments to intervention strategies.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to optimize client care through personalized intervention plans.
\n
• Communicate with attending physicians and psychiatrists regarding client needs, especially for those admitted to mental health facilities.
\n
• Proactively identify potential barriers to recovery and strategize preventative measures to support client success.
\n
• Provide guidance and support to families and caregivers, equipping them to handle mental and behavioral challenges successfully.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with a diverse client base including children, adolescents, and adults facing various challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and substance use disorders. Your role is crucial in creating a safe, trusting environment where clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences and aspirations for recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A minimum of a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of New Jersey.

• Proven competency evidenced by passing scores on relevant licensure exams such as the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to convey complex information clearly and empathetically.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor that fosters trust and rapport with clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated experience working as a mental health counselor or in a similar clinical setting.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, to manage patient documentation and care effectively.

• Experience with various mental health disorders, including co-occurring physical health conditions and addiction challenges.

• Knowledge of best practices recommended by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and a sound understanding of the effects of prescribed medications.

Compensation and Benefits\n
