Work Environment\n

This remote role allows mental health counselors the flexibility to work from home while connecting with clients through our telehealth platform. Our practice utilizes state-of-the-art electronic health record systems, including AVATAR, to ensure efficient and effective record-keeping. You will have the opportunity to work independently while engaging in regular collaboration with other health professionals in our network.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews and assessments to document client histories, presenting concerns, and objectives from the initial consultation through the course of therapy.

• Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health through structured assessments and observations.
\n
• Develop comprehensive, individualized treatment and recovery plans catering to the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging and supportive individual and group therapy sessions, employing therapeutic techniques based on the latest research in psychotherapy.
\n
• Continuously monitor client progress throughout their treatment journey, making necessary adjustments to intervention plans to optimize outcomes.

• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of specialists, ensuring a holistic approach to client care while remaining responsive to healthcare changes.

• Stay informed on referrals for enhanced client support and follow up with psychiatrists and attending physicians regarding clients who may require hospitalization.

• Identify risk factors and behaviors that may impede recovery, addressing these proactively to foster a stable recovery environment.

• Offer guidance and support to family members and caregivers, helping them manage their loved ones’ mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our client base is diverse, comprising individuals and families facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Our counselors utilize a client-centered approach, valuing individual experiences while adapting techniques to align with client needs and unique backgrounds.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor providing direct services to clients.

• Demonstrated proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, ensuring the organization and management of client data.

• Experience addressing a range of physical and emotional health conditions, including addiction disorders.

• Familiarity with best practices as established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• In-depth knowledge of psychotropic medications and their effects, enhancing the integration of holistic care.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, paired with exceptional interpersonal abilities that facilitate empathetic interactions with clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, reflective of your experience and qualifications.
