Job Overview As a Registered Nurse at Mission Hospital, you will influence patient care through collaborative relationships with your manager and opportunities within hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. Your role involves delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with department needs and state standards. Responsibilities Coordinate and deliver patient-centered care using nursing models such as 'Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage'. Advocate for patients, families, and caregivers to support an unparalleled patient experience. Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after intervention. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Respond promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipate and resolve patient needs. Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side-effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex terminology. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on non‑medical follow‑up measures such as diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes. Prepare patients and families/caregivers for future self‑management. Qualifications Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date). NIH Stroke Scale (must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date). Non‑violent Crisis Intervention (must be obtained within 90 days). Trauma Nursing Core Course (must be obtained within 1 year). Registered Nurse (RN) with BLS, ACLS or BCLS Instructor or Bachelor's Degree (must be obtained within 90 days). Basic Life Support, or BCLS Instructor (must be obtained within 30 days). PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or PALS Instructor (must be obtained within 90 days).
