VATT Registered Nurse

Job Summary Mission Hospital is seeking a VATT Registered Nurse to provide specialized nursing care related to IV therapy and enteral nutrition. The position includes training and support for vascular access and feeding tube placement, with opportunities for career development and mobility. Shift 7pm-7am with rotating weekends. Responsibilities Facilitate delivery of professional, specialized nursing care related to IV therapy and enteral nutrition. Apply the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide care, education, and teaching related to vascular access and enteral nutrition. Implement medically prescribed interventions for IV therapy and enteral nutrition in defined populations. Perform placement of enteral feeding tubes using an electronic feeding tube placement system and prepare patients for the procedure according to manufacturer’s guidelines, evidence‑based practice, and Mission policies. Qualifications Required Experience: Vascular Access specialist capable of performing difficult peripheral access on patients with limited vein access; experience in central venous catheter care, maintenance, troubleshooting occlusions, and administering FDA‑approved fibrinolytic drug; PICC insertion using real‑time ultrasound; ability to be cross‑trained to insert midline catheters in adults and pediatric populations; ability to be cross‑trained to insert PICCs and feeding tubes, and troubleshoot feeding tube issues. Preferred Experience: Experience in data collection and measuring outcomes for vascular access and enteral feeding tube procedures. Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing; or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program within 6 months, and obtain a BSN within 4 years of hire. Preferred Education: Masters in Nursing or Cortrak training course for inserting enteral feeding tubes. License: Current RN licensure with the North Carolina Board of Nursing; eNLC license may apply. Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider; Preferred certifications: National Certification VA‑BC or CRNI within two years of hire.
