** Ethics and Conflicts Attorney Opportunity Responsibilities **

Work with the firm’s conflicts team to identify and resolve conflicts of interest, draft waivers, and implement ethical screens as needed. Analyze complex conflicts, including corporate affiliations and client engagement terms, and support attorneys on internal business conflicts.

Prepare engagement letters and client agreements with attorneys and firm leadership. Review outside counsel guidelines, identify terms requiring revision or negotiation, coordinate with internal stakeholders, and communicate proposed changes to clients.

Conduct due diligence on prospective clients, identify and escalate risks, and evaluate new matters for ethical and business concerns.

Serve as a resource to attorneys and staff on conflicts, ethics, and client onboarding. Advise on contracts, professional responsibility, and risk issues, escalating as needed.

Partner with recruiting on lateral hiring by assessing candidate conflicts, resolving issues with attorneys, and advising on hiring decisions and related conditions.

Support firmwide risk management procedures and provide training, guidance, and oversight to conflicts team members to ensure accurate, complete work.

Educate attorneys and staff on conflicts and ethical obligations, and build strong relationships with departments involved in conflicts and intake.

Maintain departmental continuity by overseeing workflows in the absence of leadership, managing file transfers, and coordinating matter closures with accounting.

** Qualifications **

Juris Doctor required.

At least five years of law firm conflicts or ethics experience, with strong knowledge of professional responsibility rules and the ability to resolve conflicts of interest.

Knowledge of ethics and conflicts rules across multiple jurisdictions.

Experience advising firm leadership on risk management and loss prevention.

Experience supervising conflicts analysts and reviewing conflicts reports.

Strong legal drafting skills in client engagement documentation and exceptional attention to detail.

Experience reviewing, analyzing, and negotiating outside counsel guidelines.

** Additional Skills and Competencies **

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management tools such as Adobe Acrobat, with the ability to quickly learn systems including Excel, Intapp, and Aderant.

Experience with legal and business research platforms, including Lexis, Westlaw, Capital IQ, and similar tools.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and make sound recommendations.

Strong written and verbal communication skills and a commitment to professional development.

Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and collaboratively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Highly organized and detail-oriented, with discretion in handling sensitive information.

Ability to remain composed under pressure and work effectively with colleagues at all organizational levels.
