Executive Chef for small Sea Ships with USA clientele About the company Grand Circle Corporation is the largest U.S. provider of international vacations for Americans aged 50 and older. What sets GCC as an industry leader in travel and discovery are small group sizes, unsurpassed value and excellence and unique itineraries covered under three brands: Grand Circle Cruise Line, Overseas Adventure Travel and Grand Circle Travel. About the job Responsible for delivering an exceptional gastronomic service for our travelers in accordance with Grand Circle Cruise Line (GCCL) standards, while contributing to a positive work environment. Responsibilities: • leading, coordinating, supporting, motivating, training, and evaluating galley team • monitoring and ensuring culinary service is up to the highest standards • responsible for organizing “mise en place”, appropriate storage, and keeping of goods • responsible for hygiene in the galley in accordance with HACCP regulations • actively supporting and assisting culinary and restaurant team • responsible for ordering food as well as stock, cost, and budget control • participating in on board events and interacting with guests • any other duties advised by Corporate Chef/Hotel Manager Skills/Qualifications: • at least 2 years of relevant job experience • proven leadership abilities and excellent communication skills • willingness to learn and progress • ability to manage the international staff in a positive and productive manner • strong organizational and motivational skills and coaching abilities • fluency in English • seaman book • Certificates (at the expense of employee): • Basic Safety Training (STCW Code VI/1) • Proficiency in Survival craft and Rescue Boats (STCW Code VI/2) • Security Awareness Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties (STCW Code VI/6-2) • Passenger Ship Safety (STCW Code V/2) • Ship Cook’s certificate a requirement by the MLC 2006What we offer: • Compensation o Gross monthly salary: 3.100 – 4.710 EUR, including base pay and potential additional earning such as bonuses, depending on experience and internal pay structure Benefits: • tips customarily provided by U.S. travelers • pension fond through Allianz • internet free of charge • laundry service (uniforms and private)• free shore excursions • special discounts on onboard shop • medical insurance coverage by private insurance company • rotation – 4 months on board / 2 months at home • length of the contract: yearly, paid all the time • travel policy: travel is arranged by Company from nearest airport to your home city till port of embarkation Place of work: Europe
