- We are seeking a Mechanical Technician IV to support manufacturing engineering projects involving new equipment installations, capacity expansions, line startups, and mechanical readiness across multiple production lines. This role will provide hands-on mechanical expertise during equipment installation, commissioning, debugging, and process optimization to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background with experience in manufacturing equipment installation, troubleshooting, mechanical system design, and process improvements. This individual will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, vendors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and improve equipment reliability and manufacturing performance.
- Lead and support mechanical equipment installation, commissioning, debugging, and startup activities to meet project milestones.
- Design and implement mechanical improvements to enhance manufacturing equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and process issues using data analysis, technical expertise, and collaboration with engineering teams.
- Perform advanced diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of mechanical systems including pumps, motors, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and gear systems.
- Align, test, calibrate, and validate mechanical equipment following installation.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals to support installation and troubleshooting activities.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, operational procedures, and equipment records.
- Manage spare parts identification and inventory while coordinating with vendors and suppliers.
- Support operator training on equipment operation, maintenance, and process changes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements that improve equipment reliability, safety, and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote safe work practices throughout project execution.
- Associate's degree in Mechanical, Technical, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience supporting new equipment installations in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with equipment startup, commissioning, and manufacturing project support.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical or industrial certifications such as Millwright or Welding.
- OSHA or other industrial safety certifications.
- Project leadership or vendor/supplier management experience.
- Experience using CAD software.
