Job Summary
Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist for a growing behavioral healthcare practice in Brandon. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, insurance claims, and revenue cycle management. Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit electronic insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner.
- Verify insurance coverage and patient eligibility as needed.
- Monitor and follow up on unpaid, denied, or rejected claims to ensure prompt resolution.
- Investigate billing discrepancies and work with insurance carriers to resolve claim issues.
- Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile accounts accurately.
- Maintain accurate billing records and documentation within the EMR/EHR system.
- Communicate professionally with insurance companies and patients regarding billing questions when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and payer guidelines.
- Collaborate with office staff to ensure accurate patient information and documentation supports billing requirements.
- Assist with other billing and administrative duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience required.
- Experience with behavioral health billing is a plus but not required.
- Working knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid billing processes.
- Experience using EMR/EHR systems and medical billing software.
- Understanding of insurance claims, payment posting, denials, appeals, and accounts receivable follow-up.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple accounts efficiently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
