- Manage the monthly legal billing cycle, including preparation, review, revision, and finalization of pre-bills and client invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Monitor and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP), Accounts Receivable, trust balances, client costs, and third-party expenses to support cash flow and collections efforts
- Oversee accounts payable, vendor payments, expense allocations, and financial reconciliations with a high level of accuracy and compliance
- Prepare detailed monthly financial reports for leadership, including AR status, WIP analysis, and client trust balances
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and perform account reconciliations in accordance with established accounting policies and internal controls
- Safeguard confidential financial and client data with the highest level of discretion and professionalism
- Partner with attorneys and administrative staff to resolve billing issues and improve financial workflows and efficiency
- Provide cross-functional administrative and financial support as needed to ensure operational excellence
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment
- Strong experience with legal billing, AP, AR, reconciliations, financial reporting, and trust accounting
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical and communication abilities
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential information
- Law firm accounting experience with familiarity in billing and practice management systems
- Knowledge of WIP management, electronic billing platforms, trust accounting compliance, KPI reporting, and process improvement initiatives
